Tokyo DisneySea

Spent all day Saturday at Tokyo DisneySea. DisneySea is celebrating their 5th anniversary. It's right beside Tokyo Disneyland and requires a separate admission ticket. As you can see in the photos, it isn't as cute or colorful as Disneyland. It features various sea-themed areas such as the American Waterfront, Arabian Coast, Mediterranean Harbor, Mermaid Lagoon, etc. The attractions are all super high tech, with a lot of attention paid to detail (the volcano actually errupts throughout the day). The Tower of Terror, Journey to the Center of the Earth, and the Indiana Jones Adventure are my favorites. Though it rained a little on Saturday, it was still pretty crowded and lines were long. Indiana Jones was closed, but we got to ride just about everything else. Good times.

A Walk In The Park

Spent the day in Kichijoji. Took a walk through the arts and crafts dealers, musicians, and dogs at Inokashira Park, then had a late lunch at DevaDeva Cafe. DevaDeva is one of the best vegetarian restaurants in Tokyo, and they have a lot of vegan options as well. One of my favorite dishes is the Yogi Burger (pictured). Good food, good prices, and nice people. Check it out if you're in the area. devadevacafe.com

More Painting

Been feeling really inspired to paint recently. Here are two new pieces I just finished: standard size Gargamel Zagoran and Secret Base Obake Dog. Zagoran is light blue, neon green, and neon yellow on flesh vinyl. Obake Dog is light blue and neon pink, with some green and silver, on black vinyl. Both of these were commissions and will be heading back to the USA soon. Check out my Flickr link for more photos of these and other hand painted figures.

Takara Soft Vinyl Robotman

This is one of my favorite soft vinyl figures, Microman Robotman. Released in the 70's, Robotman is articulated at the arms and waist. He features a color scheme similar to the original Robotman figure, and includes "Robotman" written in Japanese katakana on his back. This figure inspired Gargamel's soft vinyl Microman series, which were licensed by Takara.

Zip Zinger!

I've been riding a Krooked Zip Zinger Nano for a little while now and it rocks. The deck and graphics were done by legend Mark Gonzales. A bit small and short, but a lot of fun. It has an old school shape with pointy nose, combined with a modern concave, nose, and tail. This is a super fun cruising board, I sometimes ride it to the station on my way to work. Mini carves, manuals through intersections, and ollies over puddles. Yes.
