Sakari-Ika

Got this today from Naoya. Frank Kozik's newest figure, Salari-Ika. This is the latest figure in the "Kaiju For Grow Ups" series. This release is done in black and glow vinyl. The head and hands glow, and he comes with a soft vinyl briefcase. I like how this turned out. Naoya sculpted this and I think he did a very nice job. Salari-Ika is nice and clean, a little plump, and actually stands (unlike the M1 suit wearing kaiju).

Stuff Going On

Lots of action happening here as the Le Merde x Cometdebris collaoration release is coming near. Also preparing some figures for the Thrash Out x Super7 show and Super7 anniversary party next month in San Francisco. In addition, I'm doing an exclusive Tokoji Seijin release just for the event. I can't believe it's already mid-May! I need to get into gear.

Here's a picture of a Tokoji Seijin figure I did for fun last week. This is a custom, the exclusive will be done in completely different colors. Photo taken with my new GR II which I'm very happy with. I wish I would have gotten this camera sooner. It's so awesome.

More Crane Game* Action

Discovered this crane game today filled with mini plushes and got these two Medama Oyajis first try. I've found the trick is not to try and actually pick up the items, but to scoop them up and over the edge using one of the crane arms.

*These games are more commonly referred to as "UFO Catchers" in Japan.

GR II

Got this recently. GR Digital II compact camera by Ricoh. Super image quality and bright colors, a wide fixed lens, and several optional additional accessories (including a super wide angle lens which I also got). The macro setting is especially awesome, allowing super close-ups. Perfect for shooting my work and kaiju action shots. I was really getting sick of my Cyber-shot, crappy focus, limited settings, the only thing good about it was its size. Look forward to some better photos soon.

Kappa Krane

I was a little upset today because I meant to take Tokoji Seijin to Odaiba for some photos. Unfortunately I left him at home. I did however find this mini crane game full of kappa heads. The game was super easy. I only tried 3 times but ended up with this handful of kappas.

Day in Odaiba

Spent the day in Odaiba. Golden Week just ended yesterday and everyone went back to work today so it was empty. Did a lot of walking, had a big lunch, played a lot of games, and took a ride on the ferris wheel. At one point, Odaiba's ferris wheel was the biggest in the world. And if you wait a little extra in a separate line, you can get into one of only 4 glass cars which are completely clear all around. The view is pretty nice, but I recommend going at night or more closer to sunset.

Le Merde x Cometdebris Release

Coming soon to Cometdebris mailing list members. Le Merde and I did a small run of custom Le Merde figures. A few of these were available at Le Merde's "Let's Get Turdical" show at Super7 and last month's "Tentacles, Horns, and Scales" show. We also set aside a limited number for the mailing list. Watch your mail for order info.

My Totem Steven

Fully Visual just released Bwana's "My Totem Steven" metal figure. Steven is hand cast in metal, stands about 4 inches tall, and comes blind packaged in a can. One very lucky customer will receive a hidden gold version of this figure. Very cute, and the top of his head comes off for storage. Keep your small things or accessories inside. These are still available and are pretty reasonably priced. I love mine. www.fullyvisual.com/customrelease.htm
