We just added a few customs to the Cometdebris online store. A few of these are from the Gargamel Gang show at Grass Hut in January. Expect more custom figures soon, to be added to the store at random.
These crazy Tokojis were done as a collaboration between Le Merde and I. We sent these back and forth, each of us adding paint, and Le Merde also adding some resin. All four will be released HERE this Saturday, May 23rd, at 5:00 PM PST (May 24th, 9:00 AM Japan Time).
This is the Umezz House (sometimes called the Makoto-Chan House) in Kichijoji, built by horror manga artist Kazuo Umezu. The house got a lot of attention last year when his grumpy old neighbors took him to court trying to stop it from being built. They claimed the red and white stripes stood out too much, ruining the landscape. My guess is the old farts had nothing better to do with their boring lives. In the end the case was thrown out of court and the house was built. Take that neighbors!
I was surprised to find The Smiths and Morrissey on the karaoke machine at our hotel in Ibaraki. It only had one song from each, but still pretty rare I think. The machine had quite a few interesting selections, such as New Order and Judas Priest.
Also saw this coin operated ride at the Hitachi Seaside Park. These are usually kind of cute, with the panda version probably being most popular. This one looked more sick than cute. He did get a lot of attention though.
I found this attraction (Kappa-san no Mukashibanashi Kan) at the Hitachi Seaside Park in Ibaraki the other day. The ride was like a Japanese style haunted house with kappas throughout. Out in front was a beanbag toss game, where you had to throw beanbags onto kappa's heads, and a kappa fortune telling machine.
